Getting started

This page aims to help you keep track of things in Outpost. It's not intended to replicate or enforce all of the game logic. It's just to make some of the more time consuming parts easier.

This tool does not keep people from cheating, so play with people you trust. Although there is card logging in the "Add cards manually" section for a shallow check on someone.

For the most part, you should only need the "Your Hand" and "Factories and Equipment" sections.

Add cards manually

This allows you to add any type of card to your hand in order to correct any mistakes that happen during the game. Usually this area is not needed.

Your hand

  • Click to select/unselect a card
  • All selected cards will be added together in the "Selected:" label
  • The "Max:" label shows how much you have if you select all of your cards
  • If the first number of "Hand:" is bigger than the second, then you need to delete some cards.
  • To delete a card, select it and click "Spend selected credits".
  • The "Check all" button will select all of the cards in your hand.
  • The "Reset" button will unselect all of the cards in your hand.
  • "Spend selected credits" allows you to show someone your valid bid without showing them your other cards. Confirm if you want to spend(delete) those selected cards.
  • Use the "Draw cards for turn" when everyone is ready to draw cards based on the factories that you have manned in the "Factories and Equipment" section.

Factories and Equipment

  • When you buy colonists or robots update the input fields at the top.
  • Also, update the "Owned" column number if you buy another factory or piece of equipment. The "Operated" column on the right will not let you assign more than you have indicated that you own on the left.
  • Assign operators to your factories by updating the number on the right. You only get Victory Points for factories that are operated.
  • When you buy equipment, pick it from an open "Choose Eq" dropdown. Be sure to enter how many you have on the left side. If you buy more of the same, you can just increase the number
  • More factory types become available as you activate the proper equipment.

  • After purchasing, replace this card with the Scientist Special Factory counter.
  • This special factory produces one Research Production card per turn (no operator required)

6. Orbital Lab [c50] (3vp) era2
  • After purchasing, replace this card with the Orbital Lab Special Factory counter.
  • This special factory produces one Microbiotics Production card per turn (no operator required)

7. Robots [c50] (3vp) era2
  • Required to purchase Robot counters.
  • Provides one free Robot counter.

8. Laboratory [c80] (5vp) era2
  • Required to purchase Research Factories.
  • Provides one free Research Factory counter (not operated initally).

9. Ecoplants [c30] (5vp) era2
  • Colonists now cost 5c to purchase [not cumulative with multiple Ecoplants].
  • 10c discount on Outpost cards.

10. Outpost [c100] (5vp) era2
  • +5 Colony Support Limit.
  • +5 Hand Limit.
  • Provides one free Titanium Factory counter (not operated initally).

11. Space Station [c120] (10vp) era3
  • After purchasing, replace this card with the Orbital Medicine Special Factory counter.
  • This special factory produces one Orbital Medicine Production card per turn, if operated.
  • +1 Colony Support Limit, if operated.

12. Planetary Cruiser [c160] (15vp) era3
  • After purchasing, replace this card with the Ring Ore Special Factory counter.
  • This special factory produces one Ring Ore Production card per turn, if operated.
  • +1 Colony Support Limit, if operated.

13. Moonbase [c200] (20vp) era3
  • After purchasing, replace this card with the Moon Ore Special Factory counter.
  • This special factory produces one Moon Ore Production card per turn, if operated.
  • +1 Colony Support Limit, if operated.

Rules to remember

  • Research and Microbiotics production cards do not count towards their owner's hand limits.
  • If you draw more cards then your hand limit, you immediately discard down to your limit. You cannot spend the extra.
  • Mega cards count as 4 cards in your hand.
  • New Chemicals factories each require at least one Research production card as part of the purchase cost. A player purchasing multiple New Chemicals factories may pay for them together, but the number of Research cards spent must at least equal the number of New Chemicals factories purchased.
  • One the first round ONLY, if you make no other purchases, you can turn in your entire hand to purchase a water factory.
  • If any player has 75 of more VPs, the game is over and the player with the most VP wins.
